Getting Started
...
Thank you for installing HelloSign for Confluence
...
,
...
You will need to configure a couple things before being able to send out signature requests. Clicking on the "HelloSign Settings" link will take you to the configuration screen that Confluence administrators can edit.
...
User Authorization
All users that will be sending out signature requests will need to authorize the HelloSign for Confluence Plugin. You can authorize the plugin on your profile under the Settings tab. This allows the plugin to make signature requests on your behalf instead of the API Key account holder. Access can be revoked if needed. If you do not have a HelloSign account yet, you can create one in a new tab and return when you are done.
Inserting HelloSign Macros in Documents
Inserting HelloSign for Confluence macros into documents is easy. You begin by typing a left brace "{" into the page editor and begin typing "HelloSign...", and there are 5 macros that you can choose from:
- Checkbox
- Date
- Initial
- Signature
- Text
All five HelloSign macros give you these same options while editing them:
- Required: This will determine if the macro field will be required to fill out by the signer before completing the signature request.
- Signer: You can select which signer on the popup this macro belongs to if there are multiple signers on a single document.
- Label: Add a label to the field e.g. "signer_1"
- Unique-Id: Add a unique id to the field e.g. "1"
The Label and Unique-Id fields are optional.
The HelloSign Text Macro adds a validation option that can be used to validate the text field. The options are letters only, numbers only, phone number, bank account number, bank routing number, email, zip code, social security number, or employer identification number.
The Validation field is also optional.
Sending Signature Requests
HelloSign for Confluence adds two page actions into the page tools drop-down menu. First is the HelloSign Signature Request which will give you the following popup after clicking it.
In the HelloSign Signature Request Popup you can insert the subject and message of the signature request, specify the names and email addresses of the signers, and optionally attach the signature request to another page within Confluence.
Checking the Status of Signature Requests
After sending out a signature request on a page, the HelloSign Status page action is now available in the page tools drop-down menu.
Signer statuses for signature requests can be seen here.
You will be notified when someone has signed a signature request that you have sent out.
If the automatic attachments feature is turned on, the signed document will also be attached to the page.
